The World Is Big
Experience It With Your Best Friend
Dogs have been at our side since before we built civilization. Leaving it with your dog will bring you closer than ever, and it’s the experience of a lifetime.
Backpacking is fun
But it can be hard to start
Backpacking is one of the greatest experiences for nature-lovers. But it can be hard to start. There are a lot of options and precautions to consider. It’s easy to overthink and not get started, so I can help.
Find an Appropriate Trail
Your first trail can be exciting, it can be scary, it can be enthralling. I help select a perfect first trail that will be the right balance of fun, difficult, and enthralling.
Gear Up The Right Way
Too much gear bogs you down and makes your experience miserable, too little gear leaves you wanting more and makes your experience miserable. The right combination has a wider range than you’d expect, and I help you dial it in quicker.
Record Your First Trip
You deserve mementos of your first time out. It’s a transformative experience and magical to revisit it.
What’s backpacking without your dog?
Safely Bring Your Best Friend
Many, if not most, dogs have a long lineage of adventuring alongside us. This might be hunting or foraging, or protecting our flock or harvest. It wasn’t until recently that both them and us have been cooped up inside.
Let’s get us all back out.
Safe Distance
It is easy to accidentally overdo it with your dog. It’s also easy to underestimate them. I plan treks that are challenging and safe for both you and your dog. And we’re never afraid to change plans to accomodate them.
Canine Preparation
You aren’t the only one who should be ready to conquer the great outdoors. I’ll give you an easy, basic program to get your dog ready in as little as two weeks.
Safety First
There are a bunch of considerations to make when bringing your dog, especially the first time. I help you figure them out before hand and in the field, so you don’t make the same mistakes I learned from.
Get out of the city
And into the world
You deserve the adventure, the freedom, and the air. You deserve a day where the only traffic is the person in front of you and the only appointment is pitching a tent before the sun goes down.
Grow closer with your dog
Make new friends
Backpacking is a wonderful solo activity, but when done with a group the skills you learn together helps forge new friendships.
Whether it’s overcoming a challenging climb or talking over dinner, you’re sure to make new friends outside of civilization.
If you have any questions
Reach Out
Everyone has different concerns, and if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them.
Don’t worry if it seems like a basic question or the product of overthinking, I gotcha.
Here are some hard-learned lessons for what to look for when shopping for equipment you’ll be using when trekking with dogs.
It’s not just your hike at that point, it’s your dog’s, and this will help you respect that and make it more enjoyable for them
