Excursions & Treks

Curated adventures for you and your dog. These are designed for new to experienced hikers and people who are starting out backpacking.

Three days in Northern California • 3/22 -3/24

North Bay

Three beautiful days in North Bay, sometimes overlooking the Golden Gate, sometimes overlooking gorgeous mountains, always breathing crisp air.

Terrain considerations

Expect patches and streaks of damp to wet terrain, and make sure your shoes have tread to withstand occasionally slippery ground.

Water access

Water should be relatively abundant, and should be treated before consumption. I still recommend packing in plenty of water.

Weather

Expect low 60’s during the day and mid 40’s during the night. I recommend a sleep system rated for 20ºF or lower, and a warm liner or fleece for your dog if they don’t fit in your bag or quilt.
Three days in Tahoe • 7/12 - 7/14

Overlook Lake Tahoe

The Tahoe Rim Trail is a dog friendly loop around Lake Tahoe. It is 165 miles in its entirety, and we’ll be doing 20-25 miles of it, depending on group speed and ability.

Terrain

I’m selecting a portion of the trail that will challenge you and leave you empowered for more. We’ll be hiking a there-and-back portion of the loop trail.

Water Access

Water should be plentiful on the section we’re going to be hiking. As usual, it should be treated before drinking. Always count on packing plenty of water in, though.

Weather

Expect cold nights and chilly days. More information to come in April and May as the season develops.

Don't Like What We Have?

Included with every trek

Trek With Your Dog Delivers

In order to maximize your experience and provide the most enjoyable time and memories, I provide the following for every group.

Sustainability

10% of my profit goes toward the trail association which takes care of the trails we are use. If there is no association, it goes to the park service in charge.

Gear Guidance

I’ll make custom recommendations on gear after talking with you, by your request. These will be based on your needs, experience level, and what you want to get out of this experience.

Breakfast and Dinner

Breakfast and dinner (for humans) will be provided by me for each day of the trek. You’ll be responsible for lunches, snacks, and your dog’s food.

I need to know of any restrictions or allergies you have one week in advance.

Permits

Some areas need permits, and if they allow me to obtain them on your behalf, that will be included.

Some areas require you to apply, yourself, and I’ll assist you on those, should you require or want it.

Preparation Materials

Before each trek I scout the area we’ll be going to. I confirm a few options for distance, campsites, water, and other details to make our trip better.

I put together a PDF package for you and what you’ll need to know and prepare for, for the hike.

Incidental Equipment

Where needed I’ll provide bear canisters for all participants.

In addition, you’ll get:
Sawyer Squeeze water filter
4oz isobutane fuel canister

Photos

Joy is best when shared.

I will provide a print of you and your dog with a gorgeous picturesque setting up to 20″x30″. Upgrades and options are available.

There will also be a high resolution digital image for you, and plenty of smaller ones for social media.
